SP Formulations can execute the key experiments that comprise the preformulation data set. These foundational experiments inform the behavior and characteristics of a new chemical entity or a class of molecules. The data can help identify more promising compounds for development or support later stages of development by identifying options for formulations or drug processing.
Characterization includes, but is not limited to: determination of partition coefficient and dissociation constant; dissolution rate; solubility and stability with respect to pH; solubility and stability with respect to aqueous or non-aqueous systems; forced degradation studies including photostability testing.
